Round numbers

A round number ends in zeros: 77 24 10 00, 55 90 20 000. The more zeros in the tail, the rounder the number and the higher its status.

Two trailing zeros make for a noticeable but affordable number. Three is already a rarity; four or more turn up in single figures.

Companies are especially fond of round numbers: easy to print on a sign and to read out to a customer. If you are choosing a number for a business, start here.
